At least, that seemed to work when we went to a street festival last Saturday.

We are here in Santiago, Chile, soon to go Brazil. I am from South Carolina in the U.S.A I am the second oldest of five children at 10 years old. I am my father's namesake, the fourth Joffre in a row.
We are moving to Porto Alegre in southern Brazil in about two weeks. I don't speak Portuguese, the native language there yet. I have never moved in my life, so this is very daunting. I am nervous about transitioning, but i'm also excited about it.
We are having fun in Santiago, gearing up for Brazil. We went to the house of my dad's favorite poet, Pablo Neruda, which had a breathtaking view of the sea. We also went to a state park at the foot of a mountain, where we crossed a river. We went to a park with an aviary, where we saw a peacock. The park also had a beautiful rose garden. We went to a small town out in the country called Quillota, where we watched rugby and had steak. We also went to a vegetable and fruit fair. Everything was enormous, the artichokes were the size of my head. We've also had Chilean hot dogs, called completos which are delicious.
