It has been a relaxing time in Chile after all the upheaval of packing and traveling. I finally felt like I'd caught my breath. Unfortunately we were dealt a blow when we went to buy our tickets from Chile to Brazil. We had decided to focus on getting to Chile and then buy tickets to Brazil but it backfired on us. They will only let us take one suitcase per person at 50 lbs each and the tickets were more expensive than planned. (If going from the US to Brazil you get 2 pieces of luggage 70 lb each.) My first reaction was to scream and throw eggs at a wall and watch them explode, but I pulled myself together and cried instead. Then I was ready to let go and try to solve the problem. (Just thought I'd give you a blow by blow of my anger management.)
Joffre started looking into driving a truck to Porto Alegre vs. flying. ( I think he secretly really wanted a road trip through South America.) It was not possible. So we are now looking into the least expensive way to ship or mail our remaining suitcases. It is mostly homeschooling books and more clothes for Joffre we have to ship. They are worth the expense because the books are in English and would cost a lot more to buy new and have shipped to Brazil and Joffre's clothes can't be bought there either. (The difficulties of being a giant.) We have some good leads on shipping our stuff and have bought the tickets. Keep us in your prayers. We still have to find a place to live and set up house.
God is kind.
